dancing brick
Based in the South East, Dancing Brick is an award-winning theatre company that makes bold, poetic, visual performance. Its two core members Valentina Ceschi and Thomas Eccleshare, graduated from Ecole Intérnationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in 2008, and have since toured their work both nationally and internationally playing to audiences of all ages. Their work has been commissioned by international festivals around Europe and been shown at some of the most prestigious venues in the UK. The company’s work includes the international smash hit 21:13 (shortlisted the Total Theatre Awards 2008) 6.0: How Heap and Pebble Took on the World and Won (developed at Battersea Arts Centre in London, winner of the Arches Brick Award and shortlisted for a Total Theatre Award).
Dancing Brick tells intrepid, youthful stories, often with a problem at their heart: people with no common language; ice dancers with no ice; lovers stranded on rooftops in the middle of a flood. We are inspired by the larger-than-life style of genre story telling: Noir, musical theatre, Sci Fi, sports films, superhero stories and aim to blend their audacious colour with a silence and poetry of our own.
