polish play
In Autumn 2007 Farnham Maltings announced the national tour of it’s home grown production of The Polish Play.
The Polish Play is a piece of ‘nothing up our sleeves’ theatre made especially for village halls. An evening that starts as a play and ends at a country dance, this is the tale of a father and daughter arriving in England as she starts a career as a nanny and he worries about the family farm back in Poland.
Using an accordion, YouTube, Yuri Gagarin and the 1974 world cup finals, this is a story about belonging, growing up and our place in the world.
From January – May 2008 The Polish Play toured the UK. We performed in rural Wales, all over England and as far north as Craigellachie.
