Farnham Maltings is delighted to announce the return of vintage, a festival celebrating the kaleidoscope of vintage styles.
Now in its second year vintage once again promises to offer an Aladdin’s cave of wonderful treasures from bygone eras.
Whether you come in search of the purist elegance of the 1940s, the outlandish plastic design of the 1960s, or to discover a new passion for the past, prepare to be inspired.
Once more the fascinating vintage styles will be brought to life through, fashion, furniture, jewellery and ceramics, through to old movie posters and kichenalia.
Browse through the numerous stands in our marketplace where you will find an eclectic mix of gems.
For truly stylish shoppers there will be a wealth of vintage fashion available. Head to Pret-a-Vintage for clothing and accessories from the 1940s to 1980s, or Aline Anscombe for vintage fashion and textiles from the 1930s to 1970s.
If you like to whip up a fashion storm as well as a culinary treat in the kitchen, find beautiful vintage-inspired tea towels and aprons from Mary Fellows, or why not strike a pose in accessories from Firefly Vintage and Acorn and Will.
Travel in true vintage style with an up-cycled suitcase or handbag embellished with decoupage, hand painting and embroidery from U Old Bag, discover the wonderful history of vintage costume and textiles through The Old Bookshop’s out-of-print and pre-loved books, or get crafty with vintage buttons and badges from Sew Sisters.
For those who desire the perfect vintage-inspired home, our vintage marketplace also supplies an inspiring assortment of treasures. Find bold industrial furniture at Bubbledrum, or for a softer style, look to Home Sweet Homestyle’s 1940s and 1950s homeware and Julia Burgan’s stunning re-upholstered and painted furniture.
Create a vintage playground for your little ones with Knickerbocker Glory’s iconic toys of the past, or add the final finesse to your retro kitchen or traditional potting shed with Marmaduke’s kitchenalia and items for the garden.
Lovers of retro sounds will also be able to weave this passion into their décor, with old music posters and memorabilia available from MEM, and Sombrero Deco offering amongst other vintage items art deco radios and related ephemera.
Those who covet the perfect vintage wardrobe will be inspired by our vintage fashion show which will feature a fantastic collection of mid 20th Century day and evening wear from Surrey Art’s wardrobe.
Participate in some workshops for inspiration on how to recreate your favourite vintage style, including a Dorset button workshop with Lisa Tilley, creator of
uoldbag!, who makes wonderful accessories and homewares remade from
vintage and reclaimed materials.
Other events include the much-anticipated best dressed on the day competition, offering style-savvy entrants the chance to win a prize of £50 to spend at a stall of their choice.
After a hard day’s shopping, the pop up vintage beauty parlour hosted by Kitty’s Vintage represents the perfect stop for a moment of calm. Treat yourself to a real vintage makeover and sport a victory roll or stunning beehive. Or why not relax and enjoy tea and cake in our vintage tearoom.
